Are you struggling to hold your own across two cultural spaces? Do you sometimes feel like an outsider in your workplace? Are you seeking a sense of belonging in your workplace? Are you trying to balance personal and professional relationships? Want to increase both your cultural credibility in the workplace and reliability in your community? This 2-day workshop will help you discover the differences and similarities between Aboriginal and mainstream systems and how they operate. You will have the opportunity to explore the different communication styles of Aboriginal professionals who know how to get their messages across with cultural integrity and credibility. This workshop will equip you with strategies to be a reliable go-between when communicating good and bad news to community and workplace peers and also provide you with a range of practical tools to bring out the best in others and yourself. Learning Outcomes: • Increase confidence is maximising the liaison role between Aboriginal & other cultures; • Learn strategies to deal with different “positions and what happens in groups where you are in a cultural minority/majority • Develop skills to set boundaries between personal, professional, cultural and familial; • Identify your sanity and strategies to maintain and protect it.
